About the Program (Tentang Program Studi)

Master of Electrical Engineering University of Sumatera Utara was started in 2007 and accredited Very Good (Baik Sekali) by National Accreditation Body (BAN) BAN-PT No. 1233/SK/BAN-PT/AK-ISK/M/II/2022 (download). The program offers three specializations: Power Quality, Industry 4.0 and Wireless and Mobile Communication. Each specialization contains four semesters to complete with totally 41 credits (SKS). Each one credit (SKS) is equivalent to 150 minutes per week for at least 14 weeks. The following is the sampel subjects for each specialization.

Master of Electrical Engineering in Power Quality (Magister Teknik Elektro bidang Kualitas Daya):

Semester 1: Digital signal processing, Applied electronics, Reactive power control, Advanced power electronics, Power quality

Semester 2: Power quality mitigation, Power electronics application, Power system harmonics, Power system grounding

Semester 3: Research seminar and special topics

Semester 4: Tesis

 

Master of Electrical Engineering in Industry 4.0 (Magister Teknik Elektro bidang Industri 4.0):

Semester 1: Sensor and Network Technologies, Industrial Robotics, and Cloud Computing

Semester 2: Big Data Analysis, IoT Networks, Smart System Optimization, Autonomus Robotics

Semester 3: Research seminar and special topics

Semester 4: Tesis

  

Master of Electrical Engineering in Wireless and Mobile Communication ((Magister Teknik Elektro bidang Komunikasi Nirkabel dan Bergerak):

Semester 1: Antenna systems, Wireless communication, Microwave engineering, Applied electronics, Digital signal processing

Semester 2: Microstrip antenna design, Mobile communication, Advanced Microwave engineering, Mobile data network

Semester 3: Research seminar and special topics

Semester 4: Tesis

Students should complete a research thesis with at least one published paper to at least an international conference. (Mahasiswa diwajibkan menyelesaikan tesis dengan publikasi minimal satu paper di konferensi internasional).
